               HOME ASSIGNMENT-1

               SUBTOPIC : Section Formula

                   1. Points A(-4, x), B(y, 5) and C(1, 6) are collinear such that AB : BC = 2 : 1. Calculate the
                       values of x and y.
                   2. Calculate the ratio in which the line joining A (6, 5) and B (4, - 3) is divided by the line y =

                       2.
                   3. Three consecutive vertices of a parallelogram ABCD are A(1, 2), B(1, 0) and C(4, 0). Find
                       the fourth vertex D.
                   4. If the point C ( - 1 , 2) divides internally the line segment joining A ( 2 , 5) and B ( x , y) in
the ratio 3:4 , then find the coordinates of B.
                   5. The base BC of an equilateral triangle ABC lies on Y-axis. The coordinates of the point C
are (0, -3). If origin is the mid-point of BC , find the coordinates of point A and B.
                   6. Find the ratio in which the line 3x + y – 9 =0 divides the line segment joining the points
                       A(1,3) and B(2,7).
