h. Tricki starts taking a walk around the bowls, occasionally licking inside casually, one or
two of them.
5. Trcki’s rapid progress
a. Tricki needs no medical treatment
b. But he makes a rapid progress
c. He runs about the dogs, joining them in their friendly barkings.
d. He fights for his share of food
e. Dr. Herriot tells Mrs Pumphrey that Tricki is out of danger and steadily recovering
f. Mrs Pumphrey starts bringing eggs, 2dozen at a time, to build up his strength
g. Wine & brandy are also provided to improve Tricki’s constitution
h. Finally the doctor informs that Tricki has completely recovered and can be taken home
6. Trick’s Transformation & Grateful Mrs Pumphrey
a. Within 2 weeks Tricki has been transformed into a hard – muscled, flexible, active dog
b. He is stretching out in great bounds
c. When Tricki sees her mistress he leaps and sails into her lap
d. As the car moves away, Mrs Pumphrey leans out of her window, her lips trembling, tears
shone in her eyes, she expresses her hearfelt gratitude
e. This is indeed “a triump of surgery”!!
