P. 2

 We have to understand clearly what the information given

is and what we have to find out ,then we have to find the

                       answer.
 The words like take away, ate, broke, left, burst etc,

helps us to know that the problem is a subtraction story

                       problem.

 Read the story and circle the numbers.

 Underline the word (take away/ate/broke/took etc).

 Then write the number sentence.

 Now subtract the numbers and write the answer. We can
use fingers, count forward, count backward or use any

                       method to subtract.

 The answer should always be written along with the object

                       mentioned in the problem.

Ex- There are frogs in a pond. of them jump away. How
                                     8
                                                                5
               many are left?

               Ans- 8-5= 3 frogs

 If we are given two digits like 9 and 3 to frame a

subtraction sum then the smaller number is subtracted from

the bigger number to get the answer.

 We write 9-3=6.We can take away a smaller number from
a bigger number. Your answer will always be smaller than
   1   2   3
