 Take away is another name of subtraction which means

taking away any smaller number from a given bigger

number.
 Ex- There are 5 apples in a basket. I took away 3 apples.

Now 2 apples are left.

take away .So are left.So

the number sentence is 5-3=2

 Subtraction can be done both by writing vertically and

horizontally.

 9-2=7 (horizontal)
