P. 2
Ex- 69 , 45
As 45 comes first and 69 comes after ,so 69 is greater
than 45. 69>45
We always compare the first number with the second
number.
Another way of compairing is by compairing the tens. The
number which has more number of tens is the greater
number.
Ex- 63, 73
63 has 6 tens and 3 ones and 73 has 7 tens and 3 ones.
So 63<73 or 63 is less than 73.
When the number of tens in both the number is equal we
look for the ones, the number that has more ones is the
greater number.
Ex- 78, 73
78 has 7 tens and 8 ones and 73 has 7 tens and 3 ones.
So 78> 73 as 78 has more ones in it.
Greater than- when the number on the left side is
greater than the number on the right side, we use
greater than (>).
Less than- when the number on the right side is
greater than the number on the left side, we use less
than (<).
Equals to- When both the numbers are same, we use
equals to (=).
Learning Outcome- Students are able to compare numbers from
50 to 100 using appropriate signs (>/</=).
