Lesson 11.2- Non standard units of measuring length.
Learning objective-Students will be able to understand the
concepts of non-standard measuring units to measure different
objects.
Note: These are some non-standard measuring units using hands.
Digit: It is the width of the pointing finger. You keep your
finger side to side and usually measure smaller objects.
Handspan: It is the distance between the thumb and the little
finger when your palm is stretched out from end to end.
Cubit: It is the distance from the middle finger to the elbow. It
is mostly used to measure materials or objects like table or your
height.
Learning outcome-Students can able to measure different objects
by using different body parts like digit, hand span and cubit.
