7.3 SOURCES OF WATER

Learning objective/Aim-The children will learn about the

different sources of water.

 The Earth is called the blue planet as it has the large

amount of water present on its surface.

 Water is all around us in-lakes, ponds, rivers,

streams, seas and oceans and underground.Theyare

called water bodies.

 These water bodies are known as natural sources of

water.

 Rain is the main natural source of water.

 Man builds ponds, wells, tube-wells etc. to take out

underground water for use.

 Man also builds canals and dams on rivers to

channelize water for irrigation.

Learning Outcome- The children will be able to name

some of the source of water.
