1 TYPES OF FOOD
Learning Objective- The students will be able to know and understand the types of the food.
Note:
We need food to live it is our basic needs like air and water. Food gives us energy to
work and play. There are many kinds of food like fruits, vegetables, grains, eggs, milk
and milk products, meat and fish.
We need to eat a variety of foods to get all kinds of nutrients. There are three
types/groups of food.
1. Energy giving food- Energy giving food is that food type which gives us energy to do
various work. They are also known as “Go food’. Ex- rice, sugar, bread and many more.
2. Body building food-Body building food is that food type which builds up our body. They
are also known as ‘Grow food’. Ex- meat, eggs and many more.
3. Protective food- Protective food is that food type which protects us from various
diseases. They are also known as ‘Glow food’. Ex- fruits and vegetables.
Milk is a complete food which comes under all types of food.
Learning outcome -The students can identify different types of food and the nutrients they
get from different food groups.
