1. PARTS OF A PLANT


               Learning  objective:  Students  can  identify  common  plants  and  the

               different parts of a plant


               Note:

                     Plants  make  our  world  colourful  and  wonderful.  Plants  are  of
                       different shapes and sizes. Root, stem, leaf, flowers and fruits

                       are the parts of a plant.
                      Each of these parts help the plant in different ways. Plants that
                       we commonly see around us are known as common plants. Eg-

                       neem, mango, tulsi etc

               Learning Outcome:  Students can draw and label different parts of the
               plant and write at least two functions of its parts.




               2. TREES, SHRUBS AND HERBS

               Learning Objective:  Students will identify and differentiate between

               trees, herbs and shrubs.


               Note:

                      Trees- They   are big and tall plants. They have very thick, woody

                       and    hard stems called the trunk.  Ex- Mango tree and Neem tree.

                      Shrubs-  They  have  a  hard,  but  not  a  very  thick  stem.  Ex-  Rose

                       plant, Lemon plant.

                      Herbs- They have green and tender stems with few branches. Ex-
                       Mint and Tulsi.



               Learning  outcome:  Students  can  differentiate  between  trees,  herbs

               and shrubs and also give few examples of each.
