When the letter r follows a vowel, it usually changes
the vowel sound.
What are /r/ controlled vowels?
An /r/ controlled vowels are vowels (a, e,
i, o, u) that are immediately followed by
an /r/. The /r/ makes the vowels say a
special sound.
