Unit - 3
Phonics - Long /i/ with silent /e/
Leaning objective: - The students will learn to pronounce the long
/i/ with silent /e/ words in the phonic way.
Explanation: -
When there is a vowel like/i/then a consonant and then a
vowel/e/ at the end, there /e/ is silent and it usuallytells the
vowel /i/ to say its name.
For example: - like 'kit' and 'kite' and explain that the
letter/e/ in the end is silent and is also called the magic/e/
which makes the short vowel /i/ to say its own namebut /e/
itself remains silent.
Ex: rid and ride sit and site
In Long /i/ silent /e/ words, there will always be a consonant
between letter ‘i’ and letter ‘e’.
Learning outcome: - Students can pronounce the long /i/ and silent
/e/ words and can apply rules of phonics.
