                                                 PHONICS /oo/ SOUND



                       Learning objective : Students will be able to identify and

                       pronounce the words having " -- oo" sound .



                       Explanation:

                            Sometimes /oo/ sounds long and sometimes short.

                              Long /oo/ sound

                              Ex: tool, stool, cool, pool, cuckoo etc

                              Short /oo/ sound

                              Ex: hook, shook, wool, wood etc

                            Mostly /oo/ sounds shorter when it follows the

                              letter ‘k’.

                              Ex: look, book, cook, took etc




               Learning outcome: Students can identify long ' oo ' and short

               "oo" sounding words.
