SEPARATING SOLUBLE SOLIDS FROM LIQUIDS:

               Evaporation and Condensation:

Evaporation is the process of converting liquid into its vapour form. It is used to recover
the dissolved solid components from a solution.

Condensation is the process in which water vapour converts back to its liquid form

               Example: Salt i s obtained
               by evaporating sea water.

               Distillation:

The process in which a pure liquid is obtained from a solution by evaporating the liquid
and then condensing the vapours is called distillation. The pure liquid obtained after
               distillation is known as distillate.

Example: By distillation of sea water, we can get pure water as the distillate and salt as
               the residue.
