               PROPERTIES OF MATERIAL

               Transparency-

The property of a material to allow light to pass through it, is called transparency.

Different materials have transmitted different amount of light. Based on amount of light that a
material allows to enter through it, materials are classified into three groups.

Transparent Materials- Materials that allow to pass light through them completely
                are called transparent materials.

               E.g. air, water, glass etc.

Translucent Materials- Materials that allow a part of light through it (allow partially), are
               called translucent materials.

E.g. butter paper, thin coloured polythene, ice, frosted glass etc.

Opaque Materials-Materials that do not allow any light to pass through it, are called opaque
               materials,

As for examples wood, stone, metal sheet etc
