              Excretion:

                     • Toxic substances are removed from the body by the process of excretion.
                     • Undigested food is removed from the alimentary canal in the form of
faeces by the process of defecation.
                     • Excess of salt and water are removed from the body in the form of
                          urine and sweat.

                     • Plants also release carbon dioxide and excess of water through the stomata in the
                         leaves.
                     • Gums and resins are the other wastes released from the plants and trees.
                     • Non-living things do not excrete.

              Reproduction:
                         • All living organisms reproduce to produce more of their own kind. This process is
                            called reproduction.

                         • Animals reproduce either by laying eggs or by giving birth to young ones.
                         • Most plants reproduce through seeds.
                         • Non-living things do not reproduce.

              Definite Life Span:

                  • All living organisms take birth, become mature, get old and eventually die.
                  • Each living organism lives for a particular number of years, which is known
as its life span. Non-living things do not have a definite lifespan.

              WONDER BOX

                 • Whales are sea animals that do not lay eggs, they give birth to young ones.
