CLIMATE
• The Democratic Republic of the Congo lies on the
equator, with one-third of the country to the north and
two-thirds to the south. The climate is hot and humid in
the river basin and cool and dry in the southern highlands,
with a cold, alpine climate in the Rwenzori Mountains.
• Gradually, clouds build up and bring rainfallto the
regions. In the DRC, it rains almost every evening. This
rainfall is called as 4 O’ clock rainfall. In equatorial
regions 4 o clock rainfall occurs . It is also known as
convectional rainfall. During the day the vertical rays
of the sun intensely heat up the land and water as a
result watervapour is produced which cools up when
