P. 2
Example 2: Is 5 is a factor of 35?
Procedure:
Step 1: Divide 35 by 5.
Step2: If 5 divides 35 completely, then it is the factor of 35.
Step3: If 5 does not divides 35 completely, then it is not a factor of 35.
Step 4: As 5 divides 35 completely, hence 5 is the factor of 35.
Properties of factors:
Every non-zero number has a limited number of factors.
Example1: All factors of 6 is 1, 2, 3, 6
Example2:All factors of 19 is 1, 19.
1 is a factor of every number as 1 divides every number exactly.
Example1: 25 ÷ 1 = 25
1 is the smallest factor of all non-zero number.
Example1: All factors of 6 is 1, 2, 3, 6
Example2: All factors of 19 is 1, 19.
The largest factor of every non-zero number is the number itself.
Example1: Underline the largest factors of 6 is 1, 2, 3, 6
Example2: Underline the largest factors of 19 is 1,19.
Every non-zero number is the factor of ‘0’
Example: 6 is a factor of 0.
