P. 2

Step 3: Multiply 502 by 3, that is the number given in the tens place, but place a zero in
the ones place column, since this part of the multiplication is a number of tens.

               Note: while multiplying 3 by 2 = 6. Write 6 in tens column. Multiply 3 x 0 = 0, now write 0
next to 6 and no number to carry over to the next place. Now, multiply 3 x 5hundreds =
               15 hundreds. So, 5 0 4 x 3tens =1506Tens = 15060.

Step 4: Multiply 502 by 3, that is the number given in the hundreds place, but place a
zero in the ones and tens place column, since this part of the multiplication is a number
               of hundreds.

               Note: while multiplying 3 by 2 = 6. Write 6 in tens column. Multiply 3 x 0 = 0, now write 0
next to 6 and no number to carry over to the next place. Now, multiply 3 x 5hundreds =
               15 hundreds. So, 5 0 4 x 3hundreds =1506hundreds = 150600.

               Step 5: Now add all product.(3012 + 15060 +150600) =

Step 6: Hence the final product is 168672.
