** POINTS TO REMEMBER:
1. 5-digit numbers i.e. till ten thousand are read the same way in both the systems.
2. 6-digit number are read differently because a lakh in the Indian systems is called
a hundred thousand in the International system.
3. Ten lakh in the Indian system is read as one million in the International system.
4. Crore in the Indian system is read as ten million in International system.
5. Ten crore in Indian system is read as hundred million in International system.
Example: 1 Lakh = ____ Thousand.
Solution: Steps: 1,00,000 ÷ 1000 = 100
So, 1Lakh = 100 Thousand.
