Chemical change
• Whenever a substance undergoes a chemical change, a new substance is formed
that have different properties than the original material.
• The changes in Chemical change are generally permanent. The change cannot
come back to its original state.
• The following signs often suggest that a chemical change has taken place:
Color change
change in smell
new substance is formed
Examples of Chemical Change
1. Formation of curd
2. Burning of wood or paper
3. Burning of camphor
4. Souring of milk
5. Burning of candle
6. Digestion of food
7 .Burning of coal
8 .Rusting of metal
9. Ripening of fruits
10. Explosion of firecracker
