Physical change –
• Physical Properties of a substance are shape, size, state and volume.
• Physical Change is a change which occurs when there is a change in the shape, size
and state of substance i.e. physical properties of a substance.
• In physical change no new substance is formed but can change the shape and size of
the existing substance.
• In physical change, most of the changes are temporary. The change comes back to
its original state after some time.
Examples of Physical Change
1. Melting of ice cream
2. Dissolution of sugar in water
3. Melting of ice
4. Freezing of water
5. Boiling of water
6. Melting of wax
7. Drying of clothes
8. Beating of metals
9. Cutting of fruits
10. Glowing of bulb
