CHAPTER: 2 SAFETY AND FIRST AID


                                                   TOPIC: ANIMAL BITE






















                    Types of injury                    Type of first aid given

                     ANIMAL BITES          Dogs, monkeys and some other animals (can cause rabies)
                                                 Wash the wound with soap and water to remove germs,
                                                  as the virus which causes rabies may be carried in the
                                                  saliva of an infected animal.
                                                  Apply an antiseptic lotion to prevent infection.

                                                  Bandage the wound with sterile gauze.
                                                  Rush the victim to a doctor and get tetanus injection.





















                                           Bee sting
                                                 Apply a paste of baking soda and water or apply
                                                  toothpaste on affected area
