Singular means only one. Plural means more than one.
In order to make a noun plural, it is usually only necessary to add s. However,
there are many irregular nouns that add es. The following are certain rules to
be followed while changing singular to plural nouns.
To make regular nouns plural, add -s to the end.
SINGULAR PLURAL
book books
boy boys
girl girls
desk desks
Cow cows
Plurals can be formed by adding –es to the singular nouns ending with –s,
-ss, -sh, -ch or –x.
