There is an easy way to identify Emphatic Pronoun:

A sentence can make complete sense without an

Emphatic Pronoun.

I myself will take the car.

(The Emphatic Pronoun myself emphasizes the pronoun I,

if we remove myself from the sentence, the sentence will

still make sense)

I will take the car.

•The old man himself came running to save me.

(The Emphatic Pronoun himself emphasizes the subject –

the old man, If we remove himself from the sentence,

the sentence will still make sense)

The old man came running to save me.
