• Correctly use a before consonant sounds.
• Correctly use an before vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u).
• Able to frame and write sentences.
Discussion:
• Narrate a story about two teachers-Mr ’a’ and Mrs ‘an’.
• Mr. a always stands with the consonants.
• Mrs. an always stands with the vowels.
• Mr. a stands with the objects whose names begin with
consonants. Ex-a pen, a box, a cat, a zoo, a helicopter.
• Mrs. an stands with the objects whose names begin with
any vowel sound. Ex- an elephant, an egg, an apple, an
igloo, an orange, an owl, an umbrella.
• Show flashcards one at a time (e.g., umbrella, dog, egg).
• Ask students: “Do we use a or an?”
• Write the correct phrase (e.g., "an umbrella").
• Help sort picture cards into two columns: “a” and “an”.
