Learning Objective:
● Learn about opposites through movement activities that
incorporate large motor, language and creative movement
skills.
● Read, comprehend and write the opposite pair of words.
● Learn describing words in pairs and enhance vocabulary.
● Demonstrate active and attentive listening.
Discussion:
● Show one big and one small balloon.
● Balloons are different, one is big the other one is small.
● Follow the instructions:
Reach high to the sky and low to the ground.
Take a big step and a small step.
Run fast and run slow.
Show a happy face and a sad face.
● Opposites are pairs of words that have different meanings.
Ex-big-small, happy-sad etc.
● Introduce 5–6 common opposite pairs using flashcards:
big / small
hot / cold
up / down
fast / slow
