Formation of a Rainbow

The small raindrops that remain suspended in the air after the rain act as a prism.
When sunlight passes through these raindrops, it disperses and we see the
               rainbow's seven colors.

               Atmospheric Refraction

Atmospheric refraction is the apparent direction shift of a celestial object caused
by light ray refraction as they pass through Earth's atmosphere. Starlight refraction
causes the twinkling of stars and variations in the size of the Sun.
