LES VERBES ( the verbs )
In French, verbs are divided into 3 groups on the basis of their endings:
First group: 'ER' verbs. Those verbs are ending with ER. Like Parler, Aimer,Demander.
Second group: "IR" verbs: Those verbs are ending with IR, like Finir, grossir, reussir.
Third group:"RE" verbs: Those verbs are ending with RE et OIR, like vendre, Attendre, Avoir,
devoir
First group of verbs "ER" verb conjugation
All regular verbs whose infinitive ends in "er" belong to this group (except Aller( to
go).
The present tense of all ‘er’ verbs is conjugated by removing the ‘er’ ending and adding
the endings. e, es, e, e, ons, ez, ent, ent to the radical of the verb. Ex. Infinitive Parler,
drop ‘er’ from parler remaining is parl. Parl is radical.
