                                          LN- Fraction of a collection


         Learning Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

               Understand the concept of a fraction as part of a collection.

               Identify and calculate a given fraction of a group of objects.
               Use visual models to represent fractions of a collection.


         Fraction of collection - Fractions representing parts of a set or collection.

         For example – Suppose you have 20 cherries and you have to divide 20 cherries

         among 2 children.













         Divide 20 cherries by 2.










                                               OR







         Half of 1 part of 2 equal parts.

         Total number of cups =8

         Half of 8 cups


          ½ of 8 =

         8 ÷ 2 = 4

         Thus, ½ of 8 =4
