Learning Objectives:
• Read and write 3-digit and 4-digit numbers correctly.
• Understand the place value of digits in these numbers.
• Write numbers in Composed form, word, and Decomposed form.
1. Understanding Place Value:
Each digit in a number has a place value depending on its position.
Place Value Chart:
Thousands Hundreds Tens Ones
1,000 100 10 1
Example:
4372
• 4 is in the Thousands place → 4000
• 3 is in the Hundreds place → 300
• 7 is in the Tens place → 70
• 2 is in the Ones place → 2
2. Reading and Writing Numbers
A. Composed Form
This is the usual way we write numbers using digits.
Example: 638, 1204
B. Word Form
We write the number in words.
