                                                         Grade 3
                                           Topic: PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE

               OBJECTIVES

                   • Understand the concept of past, present, and future tenses in storytelling.

                   • Identify events happening in the past, present, and future within a story.
                   • Use past, present, and future tense verbs correctly when writing or narrating a story.

                   • Create short sentences or mini-stories using different tenses.

               INTRODUCTION

                   • Begin by asking students: "When you tell a story, how do you talk about things that
have already happened? What about things happening now or things that will happen
                       later?"
                   • Explain that stories can talk about the past, describe the present, or predict the future.

                   • Introduce the three time frames:

o Past: Events that have already happened (e.g., "Yesterday, I played football.").
o Present: Events happening right now (e.g., "I am playing football.").

o Future: Events that will happen later (e.g., "I will play football tomorrow.").

                   • Emphasize that the verb tense changes depending on the time frame.

               ACTIVITY

                   1. Mini Story Reading:

o Read a very short story aloud that includes examples of past, present, and future
                              actions.

               Example Story:
"Last Saturday, Anna baked a cake. Today, she is decorating another one. Next week, she will join
               a cake-baking competition."

                   2. Class Discussion:

o Ask students to underline verbs that show actions in the past, present, and
                              future.
o Discuss how the verbs change to show different times.

                   3. Group Activity:

o Divide students into small groups.
o Each group receives a simple event (e.g., "going to the market," "winning a
                              race," "visiting grandma").
