Fractions of Quantities

Fractions of quantities are when we are asked to find a certain fraction of a given amount by

multiplication. They are also called finding fractions of numbers. Using a bar model is a

useful way of doing this.

To find the fraction of a quantity, you can divide

the quantity by the denominator and then

multiply the result by the numerator.

Steps :

• Divide the quantity by the denominator

• Multiply the result by the numerator
