Page 2 - LN- Multiplying numbers by 10
P. 2

 In our number system, place value helps us understand that:

                       10 ones = 1 ten

When we multiply by 10, each digit moves one place to the left and
                       becomes 10 times bigger.

                  Example:
               4 × 10 = 40 → 4 ones become 4 tens!

                    Real-Life Examples

 ️ You have 10 pens in one box.
How many pens in 4 boxes?
                       → 4 × 10 = 40 pens

                    ️ Each ticket costs ₹10.
                       How much for 7 tickets?
                       → 7 × 10 = ₹70

Learning Outcome: Students were able to multiply whole numbers by

10 confidently and explain the pattern of adding a zero or shifting place
                       value to find the product.
