We use and to link words that are similar.
Example:
The house is warm.
The house is comfortable.
The house is warm and comfortable.
We use but link words that are different and do not
normally go together.
Example:
She wanted to buy a dress .
She didn’t have any money .
She wanted to buy a dress, but she didn’t have any
money.
