LN-Looking at characters
Learning objective: The students will be able to understand the traits of a
character.
Explanation: Characters are the people or animals in a story.
Character traits are the qualities or
characteristics that define a
character's personality, behaviour
and motivations. Here are some
common character traits found in
stories:
Positive Traits
1. Kindness: Showing compassion,
empathy and generosity towards others.
2. Honesty: Being truthful and trustworthy.
3. Courage: Displaying bravery and determination in the face of challenges.
Negative Traits
1. Greed: Being excessively selfish, materialistic and manipulative.
2. Jealousy: Feeling resentful, envious and insecure.
3. Dishonesty: Lying, cheating and deceiving others.
Neutral Traits
1. Curiosity: Showing interest, inquisitiveness and a desire to learn.
2. Creativity: Displaying imagination and innovation.
Here are some common character categories:
Main Character Categories
1. Protagonist: The main character(s) around whom the story revolves.
2. Antagonist: The character(s) opposing the protagonist.
