              1.    (a) The mass of a book is 200g. What is its weight in newtons?
                   (b) If the book is resting on a table, find the contact force acting on the book by the surface of
                   the table.
                   (c) A camel is standing on four feet. The weight of the camel is 4000 N. Calculate the contact
                   force from the ground on each of the camel’s feet.

              2.    The strength of gravity is 10 N/kg on Earth.
                   (a) Calculate the weight of a boy who has a mass of 35 kg.
                   (b) Calculate the mass of a bus that has a weight of 15500 N.
                   (c) When the bus entered a muddy road, its wheels started to sink. Why?

              3.    There are two persons Harry and Larry who have same mass. Larry is there on the surface of
                   earth and Harry is there in a space station which is orbiting earth at a height of 1600 km from
                   the surface.
                   (a) Who among them will experience gravity lesser in value and why.
                   (b) Who has greater weight and why.


              4.    A ball is dropped from four different places, A, B, C and D on earth as shown in the figure. Draw
                   arrows to show the direcUon in which each ball will fall.























              5.    The force of gravity caused by an object acts away from the centre of the object. (true/false)
