Read the following case studies and answer the questions that follow.
Case Study 1: Aisha in Rural India
Aisha lives in a small village in rural India. Her family works in agriculture and has limited income.
There is no internet access in her village, and most people do not own computers or smartphones.
The nearest place with internet access is a small community centre located 5 kilometres away, which
charges a fee for usage. Aisha has never used a computer, but she has seen some of the older boys in
her village using smartphones to watch videos. Her school has one old computer that the teachers
sometimes use for administrative work, but the students rarely get a chance to interact with it. Aisha
dreams of learning how to use computers so she can access more information and connect with
               people outside her village.
               Questions for Case Study 1:
                   1. What are some of the challenges Aisha and her community face due to the lack of access to
                       computers and technology?
                   2. How might having access to computers and the internet potentially benefit Aisha's education
                       and future opportunities?
                   3. Can you think of any potential negative impacts that technology might bring to Aisha's village
if it becomes more widely available?

Case Study 2: Kenji in Urban Japan
Kenji lives in a large city in Japan. He has a personal laptop, a smartphone with high-speed internet
access, and a tablet. His school uses interactive whiteboards and online learning platforms. Kenji uses
his devices for schoolwork, playing games, watching videos, and connecting with friends online. He is
very comfortable using different types of software and applications. His city has widespread Wi-Fi
access in public spaces, and he sees people of all ages using various technological devices.
               Questions for Case Study 2:
                   1. What are some of the ways Kenji uses computers and technology in his daily life?
                   2. What are some potential advantages of having easy access to a wide range of technology for
                       Kenji's education and social life?
                   3. Can you think of any potential negative impacts of Kenji's constant exposure to technology?

Case Study 3: The Tech Entrepreneur in Kenya
Mwangi lives in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a young entrepreneur who has started a successful business
that uses mobile phone technology to provide farmers in rural areas with information about weather
forecasts, market prices, and farming techniques. His business has helped many farmers improve
their crop yields and incomes. Mwangi relies heavily on computers and the internet to develop his
software, manage his business, and communicate with his team and customers.
