               LEARNING OBJECTIVE- To know about food, dresses, historical places and
               culture of Odisha and Assam.



               DISCUSSION-


                       Odisha


                     State capital- Bhubaneswar.

                     Language- Odia.
                     Clothes- Men- dhoti, kurta, gamucha and joda( made of cotton). Women-

                       cotton sarees, especially the Sambalpuri Sarees.
                     Cuisine- Traditional food of Odisha that is Pakhala along with some other
                       side dishes and the special food prepared in the temple called as Abadha.

                     Classical dance- Odissi
                     Famous  places/Monuments  -  Dhauli  Shanti  Stupa,  Puri  Sea  beach,  Ram
                       Mandir, Lingaraj Mandir, Nandankanan Wildlife Sanctuary, Dhauli, Konark,

                       Jagannath temple in Puri etc.
                     Heritage-Tarakasi or Filigree work that includes silver jewellery.
                     Harvesting festival- Nuakhai Juhar is the harvesting festival of Western

                       Odisha.  Nuakhai  is  a  combination  of  two  words,  'nua'  meaning  new  and

                       'khai' means eat, it thus signifies "eating of new rice".

               Assam


                     State capital- Dispur

                      Language - Assamese.
