                                             LA NEGATION


                                                                         Négation


               Basic negation is formed by placing ne…………pas before and after the
               conjugated verb. ‘Ne’ becomes ‘n’ in front of a verb starting with a vowel or a

               mute h.

               One has to be very careful: while turning into negative or answering negatively

               to the sentences containing following words; quelqu’un ,  quelque chosee ,
               tout, tout le monde ,quelquefois , parfois, toujours, encore, deja, partout etc

               .


               We use following negative expression if any of the above mentioned word is
               given in the sentence: ne….rien, ne…… personne, ne……… plus, ne …..pas
               encore, ne…… jamais, ne ……..nulle part etc.


               Points to remember


                   1.  Observe the sentences properly and think wisely which negative
                       expression would be appropriate.

                   2.  Always keep the verb between the negative expression.
                   3.  In case of two verbs, always keep the first verb between the negative

                       expression.
                   4.  Keep in mind all negative expressions and recall them while turning into
                       negative  or answering the question negatively.
