Thallophyta

                   • Thallophyta is the first division of plant kingdom.
                   • It consists of red, green and brown algae.
                   • Basic and elementary plants with undifferentiated body parts (thallus type).
                   • Reproduce through spores.
                   • They don’t have a lot of differentiated structure.
                   • examples: Spirogyra, Chara, Ulva, Ulothtrix, etc.

               Bryophyta

                   • Bryophyta is the second division of plant kingdom.
                   • These are the first plants to have differentiated roots and shoots.
                   • Plant body is differentiated into stem and leaf like structure.
                   • Vascular system is absent, which means there is no specialized tissue for
transportation of water, minerals and food.
                   • Found on both land and water therefore known as ‘Amphibians of Plantae
                       kingdom’.
                   • Examples: :- Moss (Funaria), Marchantia, Riccia etc.
