P. 2

Molecules of Elements:
The molecules of an element are constituted by the same type of atoms.
               For example,
Mono atomic: ( atomicity=1) All the inert gases such as Ne, He, Ar, All the metals
such as Na,K , Au etc
               Diatomic: ( Atomicity=2) O2, H2, Cl2, N2, Br2
               Triatomic: ( Atomicity=3) Ozone(O3)
               Tetratomic: ( Atomicity=4) P4
               Octatomic: ( Atomicity=8) S8
               Molecules of Compounds:
Atoms of different elements join together in definite proportions to form molecules of
               compounds.
For example, a molecule of water consists of two atoms of hydrogen and one atom
of oxygen to form a triatomic molecule H2O.
