Module 18 – Packing

Introduction

‘Packing’ is an extract from the humorous novel written by Jerome K
Jerome based on his experience of journey taken on River Thames. The

chapter tells about the confusion and chaos created by the inefficient
packing abilities of the three characters who actually are friends
preparing for their journey along the course of River Thames for

rejuvenation and relaxation.

Lesson and explanation

I SAID I’d pack.

The writer, Jerome liked to pack luggage for trips and announced that he
would do the packing.

I rather pride myself on my packing. Packing is one of those many things
that I feel I know more about than any other person living. (It surprises
me myself, sometimes, how many such things there are.) I impressed
