Types of forest fire:


        There are three types of forest fires;
        A] Ground fires   B] Crown fires     D] Surface fires.

        Ground fires: -The burn stays down near the ground, burning underbrush and smaller trees,
        leaves and peat. It leaves the soil in good condition. these fires are slow moving but when left

        unattended, can take out large areas.
        Crown fires burn trees up their entire length to the top.

        Surface fires burn only surface litter and duff.


        Forest fire occurs mainly due to three reasons.

        1. Natural fire due to lightening etc.

        2. Fire due to heat generated in the litter due to carelessness of people.
        3. Purposely caused fire by local inhabitants.



        Forest Fire Prevention Measure and Tips

            1.  Prevention of human-caused fires through education.

            2.  Prompt detection of fires through well-co-ordinated network of observation points.
            3.  Efficient ground patrolling and communication network.

            4.  Comply with all fire restrictions and Obey local laws. Before you burn, check with local
               authorities about any fire restrictions that may be in effect. ...

            5.  Don't leave a fire unsupervised. ...

            6.  If you smoke, be responsible. ...
            7.  Observe the weather. ...

            8.  Quickly call for help.
            9.  Keep all flammable objects away from fire;

            10. Have firefighting tools nearby and handy; Be able to put out a fire. ...

            11. Carefully dispose off hot charcoal;
            12. Drown all fires;

            13. Carefully extinguish smoking materials.
            14. Stop consumption of Meat: -The fires are set by farmers to clear land for cattle

               rearing to sell as meat.
