               Minorities and Marginalisation -:

 The Constitution provides safeguards to linguistic minorities as part of our

                    Fundamental Rights.
 Minority  Meaning – It refers to communities that are numerically small in

relation to the rest of the population. It encompasses

                    (A) – Issues of power
                    (B) – Access to resources

                    (C) – Social and cultural issues

 Marginalisation happens because some communities are relatively smaller.

 They may feel insecure about their live, assets and well-being. This insecurity
may create a rift between the majority and minority community.

 The Constitution provides safeguards because it needs to promote cultural
diversity and promoting equality and justice.

 Every citizen can approach the courts if their Fundamental Rights are violated.

               Muslims and Marginalisation

 Muslims are 14.2 percent of India’s populations and are considered to be a

                    marginalised community.
 Over the years they have deprived of the benefits of socio – economic

                    development.
