Minorities and Marginalisation -:
The Constitution provides safeguards to linguistic minorities as part of our
Fundamental Rights.
Minority Meaning – It refers to communities that are numerically small in
relation to the rest of the population. It encompasses
(A) – Issues of power
(B) – Access to resources
(C) – Social and cultural issues
Marginalisation happens because some communities are relatively smaller.
They may feel insecure about their live, assets and well-being. This insecurity
may create a rift between the majority and minority community.
The Constitution provides safeguards because it needs to promote cultural
diversity and promoting equality and justice.
Every citizen can approach the courts if their Fundamental Rights are violated.
