Budding
Multicellular organisms like Hydra reproduce by budding.
Out growths or bulges are formed from the body of Hydra. These outgrowths are called
buds. These buds grow, develop and gets detached from parent’s body.
Cloning
It is a type of artificial asexual reproduction by which exact copy of an animal is
produced. The offsprings produced by this method are called clones. Clones are
genetically similar or identical to parents.
The first clone was produced was a Sheep named Dolly in 5th July 1996 by Ian Wilmut
and his colleagues at Roslin institute,\Edinburg, Scotland .
In this process a mammary gland cell was taken from a Finn dorsett sheep and an egg
was taken from Scottish black face ewe.
The nucleus of egg was removed and the nucleus of mammary gland cell taken from
Finn dorsett sheep was inserted into the egg.
