Making of Complex sentence
A simple sentence can be converted into a complex sentence by expanding a word or
phrase into a subordinate clause - which can be a noun clause, an adjective clause or an adverb
clause
Rules- to make complex sentence by adding two or more than two simple sentence
By using noun clause-
As we know noun clause works in five ways like Subject of verb, Object of transitive verb or
preposition, Verb of incomplete predication ( is,are,am,was, were) and complement and in case
of opposition. Note that it is usually a noun or a noun equivalent that can be changed into a
noun clause
In synthesis also noun form can be use
By using noun clause
Noun clause
He liked my suggestion. (Simple sentence)
He liked what I suggested. (Complex sentence)
His advice did not prove successful. (Simple sentence)
What he advised did not prove successful. (Complex sentence)
More examples-
Separate- She is speaking true. It is known to all.
Combined- That she is speaking true it is known to all.
Separate- He is saint. Everybody knows it.
Combined- Everybody knows that he is a saint.
By using Adjective Clause-
Adjective clause
There I saw a beautiful girl. (Simple sentence)
There I saw a girl who was beautiful. (Complex sentence)
A wounded tiger is very fierce. (Simple sentence)
A tiger that is wounded is very fierce. (Complex sentence)
