                                                             DESERTS

                                                are characterised by low rainfall,
                                                 scanty vegetation and extreme
                                                           temperature.














                                                           COLD DESERT

                                                        have hot summer but
                                                      extreme cold winter. The
                                                    main form of precipitation in
                                                   a cold desert is snow or fog.
















                                                                LADAKH

                                             Ladakh is a cold desert in India.It lies in
                                             the Great Himalayas, on the eastern side
                                             of Jammu and Kashmir.
