o Inland waterways-navigable rivers and lakes are used as inland waterways.
o Important inland waterways:Ganga-Brahmaputra river system,the Great lakes
in North America and the river Nile in Africa.
o Sea routes are connected with the ports.
o Important ports-Singapore and Mumbai in Asia,New work,Los Angeles in North
America,Rio de Janerio in South America,Durban and Cape Town in
Africa,Sydney in Australia,London and Rotterdam in Europe.

4.Airways is the fastest way of transport .
 It is also expensive.
 Air traffic is adversely affected by bad weather.
 Important airports –Delhi,Mumbai,New work,London ,Paris,Frankfurt and Cairo.

COMMUNICATION

 Process of conveying the message to others is known as communication.
 Different modes of communication are used to provide information, to educate as
well as to entertain.
 Communication is of two types namely, personal and mass communication.
 Through newspaper, radio and television, we can communicate with a large
number of people. They are, therefore, called mass media.
 Satellites, Internet, Wireless telephone are the main modes of communication.
