• There is a nurse and a village health worker appointed by the
government to look after the PHC level.
• The health service is called ‘public’, in order to fulfill commitment
of providing health care to all citizens, the government has
established these hospitals and health centres.
• These services are running by the government to whom we pay
taxes.
• Hence such facilities are meant for everyone, i.e it is meant to
provide quality health care services either free or low cost.
PRIVATE HEALTH CARE SERVICES-
• There is a wide range of private health facilities that exist in our
country, which are not owned or controlled by the government.
• A large number of doctors run their own private clinics with
providing specialized services.
• Patients have to pay a lot of money for every service that they
use which is very costly.
• Today the presence of private facilities can be seen all around.
• There are many laboratories which are totally modernized and
well- equipped with good infrastructures.
