Fertilization
The process of fusion of male and female gametes in the ovules to form a zygote is
called fertilization.
Changes occur before, during, and after the fertilization
Pre- fertilization
After pollination, the pollen grains fall on the stigma of the pistil.
Pollen grain which contains male gametes send out thin tubes into the style of
the pistil and this thin tube which grows downward through the style is called
the pollen tube.
This process is known as Pollen germination.
The tip of the pollen tube bursts open and male gametes move down the
pollen tube towards the female gamete present inside the ovule.
